RME FF800 and Vista 64

I got someone on the phone with an FF800 trying to run reaper x64 both 2.x and 3.x. Hitting play says play but the cursor isnt moving and soon it gives a BSOD. What can I check?

OS is up to date with latest patches and SP? Driver for FF800 is latest? Driver works in other apps?

FF400 here on Vista and Seven works great. I did hear the thing about the firewire driver for ff800. Also, apparently this driver is replaced every service pack and in some windows updates as well.
