Using 6.7, I often get a burst of white noise (annoying pop) at the end of a bounced .wav file. Playback buffer is set to 2 (default). This happened also w/v. 5.3.3 Digi support told me to select all audio in a track, then bounce. Still does it. Was also instructed to import audio to another session, then bounce. Still does it. Sometimes adding a "dummy" track with nothing in it, selecting that then bouncing will stop the problem, but not always. What am I doing wrong here? Thanks for any suggestions!.........Judi PS: Using AMD Athlon 2200 w/1G RAM, 80G HD, session files on F:external hard-drive.
not sure if this still applies, but I had that problem a long time ago with a few version 5 pro tools... but it ended up being some waves plug-ins causing that for some odd reason. If your using waves plug-ins try importing all the audio and use NO waves plug-ins and see what happenes. good luck!
Tech-thanks for the reply. Newbie here, so not sure what a wave plug-in is and if I am already using them? Would it be any of the inserts of RTAs like gain, EQ, reverb, etc...? I do use those in the tracks. Thanks for taking the time, I'm out of no-charge tech-support calls and Digi put me on hold for over an hour (my dime) once when they were on their lunch break :-(

OK, disabled all the ethernet/Lan connections and it is still doing it :-( The computer is not even hooked up to a landline...it is strictly for Protools use. The "burst" does indeed happen only on the tracks which are using inserts...I can see it spike at the conversion while I watch the bounce. I removed the inserts and bounced...no burst. I imported the resulting .wav file and added the inserts...burst. So...what to do? I need the effects in there! Anything more to try? Thanks, Judi
I haven't had this happen to me since 6.1.1, it was a random problem for me. I never found a solution other than removing the plug-ins, so I used a workaround. I made the bounce a few seconds longer, imported the bounced track, and edited the white noise burst out from the end of the track.
Didn't have good luck trying that...selected a little beyond tracks w/no inserts then bounced all I needed and would still get the burst in the track w/plug-ins :-( Anything else I might try? Thanks, Judi
