My $.02... Get an ATA drive instead of the SCSI drive and spend the difference on upgrading the Mic. A TLM 103 might be good - or check out the AKG 4000B or A/T 4050. CAD also has a new tube mic for under a grand. MLCD is also not the least expensive, quality CD burning software around. At least look at Waveburner. Both Waveburner and Jam are about to be upgraded to handle most Firewire and USB CD burners. I haven't heard of any update forthcoming to MLCD. (maybe Digi could inform us if that's wrong). Also, 384MB is overkill unless you're planning on using some software-based synths or samplers. 256MB is more than enough for a full session. If you need more RAM in six months, it will probably be cheaper than now. Finally, see if you can rent an Avalon 737 when you track the lead vocals. I didn't see a mic preamp listed, so I'm wondering how you'll use the 160x for the "front end". Just some suggestions... ------------------ LW [This message has been edited by lwilliam (edited June 22, 2000).]
