capture multichannel directsound

I want to encode the sound of some games (at least 4 ch) to AC3 but i dont know how to capture it. Is it possible, any ideas?

I'm not sure if it's OK to do that...but if it is, you can simply plug the audio out of your game console or TV into the audio in of your (presumably existent) audio caputure card/motherboard line in. Then capture the audio with your fav capture program; there are many different such solutions, like .

Would be too much effort.. 2 Soundcards, 2 captureprogs, post processing(syncing, encoding). I'm looking for a software-only solution like Total Recorder. HighCriteria "registered my suggestion" but for now there seems no tool that is capable of that...
