\"Assertion\" error?

MessageAuthor

Hi; I've been merrily Protooling (PTLE 7.0) for nearly a year - then last week started getting this error... Could not complete your request because Assertion in "\code\aztec_StanleyPorts\SDKs\Neo61\Source\CNeoln oline 1242. Any clues? I since upgraded to PTLE 7.1, but still the same. Won't let me record on any drive, error comes up on old files or new ones... Sometimes the error comes up as... "If you session is on a read-only drive, you must disable "Autosave" by unchecking 'Enable Session File Auto Backup" (located in operaoins ab of the Pro Tools Preferences dialoge) to avoid this eror. No, nothing is on a read-only drive! ?? Thanks Tim

RE: \"Assertion\" error?

If you have an error with "Neo" in the message then delete the DigiBase folders, etc... see the sticky Troubleshooting thread. Rail

RE: \"Assertion\" error?

Thanks Rail! I could only find this sticky... General Troubleshooting - Pro Tools 6 & 7 Win XP ...but not sure if it is the right one. Can't find anything specific to "neo", but I did find some pointers for optimizing XP - Nice, but didn't effect the "neo" error of course. I had uninstalled PTLE7.0 and installed PTLE7.1 which made no difference - Would this have deleted the Digibase folders in the process? I couldn't find Digibase folders but I found this one; C:\Program Files\Digidesign\Pro Tools\Databases\volume... but moving this folder had no effect. Sorry - can you point me to the exact thread/info? Thanks! Tim

RE: \"Assertion\" error?

Thanks Rail Yep - now I know something - found the Dig databases folder. (Not that I should ever question a 12000+ forum poster!!! Amazing! Good on you) Guess what I discovered. Seems that a dodgy USB hub was upsetting my iLok. I tossed the hub and now I'm back on PE. Yeee! I hope makes some sort of sense of the error message. In any case, I hope this may help someone else. Best Tim
