Can this task be completed quicker with dynamic split using the gate feature?

Yes it can and it is one of the methods, however dynamic split not always works as expected and makes too much chops to work with most of the time, also e.g. my hands are used to doing the splitting manual way as my delete is [D], split is [S] and split at selection is [shift+cmd/ctrl+s]. Now with the marquee trick everything is near perfect. Got used to "top is drag, bottom is time select" in about an hour. What's your experience with dynamic splitting large counts of vo recordings?
