ProTools LE 6.9.2 user accounts and privileges

MessageAuthor

Still running PT LE 6.9.2 in an open lab on Windows XP. In the past, we created a local account with admin privileges, and installed the software. Students would log into the single admin user account to use it. Is this still necessary? (It was in Pro Tools 6.4) I'd rather not give them admin privileges. I'd prefer to install the software under an existing admin account that is verified through Active Directory, on the network domain. Then, the student would log in with their non-admin network account to use Pro Tools. Will this work? Or, I can create two local accounts, one for me as admin to install the software, and one for the student, with non-admin privileges? Will this work? Thanking anyone for some help.

Non-administrator (standard account) support was introduced in 6.7 Info on I'm not sure which documentation it is in for newer versions.

Great, thanks for the answer. It will help a lot! I really did not want to give admin privileges to 2,000 students. I even found the "Windows Non-Administrators Accounts Guide" after a while Appreciate the prompt assistance.

its best to keep the log-on local if you can. although you can still have the computer on the ADS domain.
