OT: Direct Monitoring

OK, your gonna need to help me with this one cause i dont have Cuemix, so im not really following, i think. Heres my issue... If you want three distinct mixes, but only one track in the DAW can control the DM for each input at a time...how can you use the DM for the other two mixes? Sounds like youre running back through the DAW and introducing ASIO latency for the other 2 mixes, no?

Gotcha, thanks for the explanation. Im only using REAPER now and im using a patchbay to split the signal from the pre. One goes to desk>headphone amp for monitoring with cans, the other to the soundcard for recording. Zero latency. ;) Im happy with this setup and will probably keep using it even if REAPER gets DM. :)

In nuendo with rme you could control the RME DSP faders from inside nuendo. I remember you couldnt do parellel routing from INSIDE nuendo that way, but the rme dsp software did allow it. I dont know if that wasnt part of the DM spec or not. My main problem with it personally is that you cant hear thru the plugins in series (sort of) for the monitored input
