Projects wont play

I just got a new laptop, and have transferred my projects to my laptop, the ones that were on my desktop. I dont have an interface yet but I cant play back anything. All I get is static. I am using asio4ll and whenever i press play, it never plays. Just says "buffering". If i switch to dummy audio it plays but i dont hear anything. Something i'm doing wrong?

Most likely Reaper can't communicate with your hardware, meaning your sound card. Since you don't mention specific, people won't be able to help. So, sound card make model(chip if it's onboard) and Reaper audio device settings.

Change drivers. Asio4all is pretty good but is nothing more than a WMD wrapper. Is freeware and is not tested with every soundcard. Inevitably there will be some that won't work with it.

weird. Switched to wdm before but it didnt play. Now it does. Preciate it.
