Printing multiple mixes

MessageAuthor

Ok, so I've been trying to duplicate an old ProTools trick of printing multiple mixes at the same time, in realtime; for example, printing a main mix, a TV mix, a vocal up mix, and an a capella all in one realtime pass. In ProTools I would simply set up a bunch of bus sends, and send the appropriate tracks to the appropriate busses; i.e. everything except vox/FX to the TV mix, everything to the main mix, everything to the vocal up with the vox +1dB, etc. When I try to do something similar in Reaper, I'm stuck. My first thought was to use the sends....except I can't figure out how to print on the receiving tracks?? Is there a way to do that, or am I looking at this all wrong?

nolman's way will do it, but it'll be realtime - you'll have to actually hit the R button and let it play through. You can also select all of the bus tracks and then File

Nope. It spits you out separate files of whatever is happening on whatever tracks you select. It will work exactly the same as nolman's way, only in virtual time. Edit - to fix nolman's name. Sorry about that!

Yes it is possible. I do this all the time using stems in rendering. It's great :) I've done the selection of tracks based on a prefix and opening render dialog automatically. Then check the export options and render. It would be great to automate also the render dialog settings.
