Issue when the dvd sound channel is 2channel PCM sound

In DVD2SVCD Audio tab, unselect "Do not convert Audio ( use source audio)" and set bitrate to, say, 224. After encoding (dont use Scenarist here), just convert the extracted WAV to AC3 at a bitrate you selected abouve, 224 and manually author in your favourite author tool. Then the final size will be spot on DVD5 and video at maximixed bitrate. CM

Thank you for your input, it was very helpful. This is the first I have seen of this type and hopefully they continue to be as infrequent. What is your tool of choice for the audio conversion? Regards Equilibrium

I tend to use AC3Enc that comes with Scenarist. It imports the WAV file , normalizes the sound and converts to AC-3 2ch. It's not fast. I have been trying/playing with the new TMPGEnc AC-3 Pluggin for their DVD Authoring program. You can use it standalone to convert the WAV to AC-3 as well. Works quick and simple (ugly looking program though !) but does not Normalize the sound levels.
