Well, you can't really use "the click" without a MIDI device. I am referring to "the click" as activated in the MIDI menu in PTLE. That doesn't mean that you can't create a click. It's easy, but it requires an audio track. Record a quick, percussive sound onto an audio track. Zoom in on the waveform in the edit window and trim the region so that the attack is just a few samples after the start of the region. Fade those few samples so that the region doesn't pop. Do the same at the end of the waveform. Select the resulting audio region and select "cut" from the edit menu. You could just use an existing audio sample if you've got any hanging around... Now set up your grid to quarter notes at the tempo you wish to work and paste the audio region on each quarter note of one measure. You can then automate the volume fader to create an accent on the 1. Make sure you're working in Grid Mode and select exactly that one measure of quarter notes. Using the "repeat" command, repeat that measure a couple hundred times and you've got a few minutes of click. It's easier than this lengthy explanation makes it sound
Have fun! Mike
