ST2 runs very well indeed in Reaper. -- below any current track control panels, right-click, select "Insert virtual instrument on new track", select ST2.5, -- click [OK] on the pop-up window to build multiple tracks for the ST2.5 audio, -- load your ST2.5 instruments, set each to a different pair of outputs, -- put your MIDI clips on the ST2.5 track. Job done.
Don't panic ! a) make sure that the path to the SampleTank VSTi is listed in your Preferences >> Plugins >> VSTs; if not then add it. b) do a VST Rescan. Also, do you have other VST(i)s installed? If so, do they show up in Reaper?
Stay Calm... ;) Sample Tanks works perfectly in Reaper... We can help you solve this but need you to provide some more detailed info as has been mentioned: 1-what is your computer type Mac or PC? 2-what is the OS? Windows what or Mac what? 3- what are the specs of your computer and audio card, ram, cpu, etc. 4- exactly where is sample tank installed on your computer... give the whole path to that directory please. 5-exactly which version of sample tank are you using? Let's not talk about 'deal breakers' just yet, since many, many people use sample tank with reaper just fine... including yours truly... Once we get reaper to see ST, we can help you with how to set up projects to trigger it with midi and to record audio out of it. There are various ways to do this and reaper is totally beautiful at doing this.
1 Does SampleTank VSTi show up in your other hosts (not Reason, of course)? 2 Where is the SampleTank VSTi installed? Can you post the complete path name? 3 Can you find these 2 files: reaper.ini and reaper-vstplugins.ini? They are both in the hidden folder, C:\Documents and Settings\DarkStar\Application Data\REAPER, here, on Windows XP. Then post them as attachments on this thread.
Well, everyone, I have decided to step aside from Reaper - for the moment, anyway. The battle was a little too heavy, for right now, and I could seem to do nothing to surmount the issue I am experiencing. I have reinstalled Cubase4 and (despite its 'sometimey' behaviors) I should be able to get a project done. The biggest issue with me, regarding Cubase, is the dongle. I had lost it once, but (thankfully) located it, a short while later. Without the dongle this program is worthless, and I really wanted to look into another very capable DAW which did NOT have to be married to a USB licensing device. I wouldn't have opted for Cubase, had it not been gifted to me (which is also why I changed my mind about selling it), because of the dongle. But I'll see how everything goes. Thanks again to everyone.
