I'm totally frustrated with Mbox performance in OSX. I have Jaguar 10.2.8 and I can hardly mix a song. Any time I get a session over 20 tracks I get that USB is holding off.... error message. I'm not even using any plug-ins and I've never had this problem in OS9. Which leads me to believe that it's a software or OS issue. What's the deal?? I've got super poor performance. I hesitated for over a year to make the jump to OSX and now I wish I had just stayed in OS9. Am I doing something wrong or is the performance really that much worse. Any comments or advice welcome eMac G4 700mghz 640 MB RAM Mbox 80 gig OWC external firewire drive with 911 chipset OSX Jaguar 10.2.8 PT 6.1.2
Yeah, I know my machine is getting dated, but when I use an 002R with it, it works great! It's a limitation of USB with the Mbox combined with my machine and OSX. My CPU meter isn't maxing out. I think it has to do with the way OSX deals with USB. It's not as fast as OS9. Thanks for the reply
are your energy savers turned off? is processor performance set to highest (if you have this option in energy saver)?

I have the same or very similar problem. Pls let me know if you ever discover a solution! (I actually had an additional problem, as well: could not get a new 200GB LaCie hard drive to work w/pro tools. Got the 9136 everytime, even in a newly opened session w/only one track...neither Digidesign or LaCie can figure it out)
