Can some dvd's just not be done

I have a DVD which is 7.39 Gig ish in size. It has 6 title sets 1 which is 2.5 gig and another which is 3.2 gig. Extras 1.53 gig If I encode these (ROBSHOT) at a bitrate which will result in less than 4.37 gig the quality is dreadful. (Encoding everything inc extras) If I run CCE single VBR pass over the 3 gig (Min 0,Max 9000) The file gets bigger to 3.5 gig :( Is this simply one of those disks that cannot be done and must be split across 2 disks.....or am I missing something Hope someone can help //Bodman

what might the name of this misfit dvd be?

Its the TT2002 (motorbike racing from the Isle of Man) Duke Video //Bodman

full D1 is just full dvd resolution, 720x480 for ntsc, 720x576 for pal.
