What does the Horn / Alarm Fuse do?

THREAD MOVED - SORRY! Hi, Just bought an X reg 2.0T, the horn doesnt seem to work. Looking in the handbook it says the fuse for the horn is also for the alarm. I am worried that if I replace the fuse I may activate the alarm and/or immobilise the engine. (The car did not come with a remote central locking fob, just a key so I might not be able to stop it??) Does anyone know what will happen? Cheers

It may simply be saying that if the alarm uses the horn as a sounder then removing the fuse will render the horn (and therefore the alarm) inoperable. I'm not an expert though so i'd wait for someone else to reply. Certainly on my 1999 Mazda the horn was the sounder for the alarm.

Your probably right, that makes sense doesn't it... I'll wait til someone confirms first though, like you said! The other thing that doesnt work, I'm assuming that it a fuse as well, is the cigarette lighter. The books says the fuse for this controls: Cigarette lighter, Accessories Anyone know what the accessories are?
