come hang out in the chat room for realtime help. With a setup like that I should think there will shortly be all sorts of offers to come hang out with you.
I'm not too far from Niles. I live in West Rogers Park and I find myself in and out of Niles pretty often. But I don't think I know enough to help you very much. I've been dabbling with home recording for about 6 years. Haven't put enough time into it to teach much. The manuals are great. Have you got them?

Nice setup! Been playing with reaper here and there for a while but could only show you the basics. I'm learning myself but I'm probably your neighbor...
Yetti, did you ever figure out Reaper? Let me know. I live in willowbrook (83 and 63rd) SW suburbs. My two buddies that I usually made music with (casually), are moving or just moved out of state. Looking to meet some new musicians in this area. Let me know.

I suggest any of the books by Geoffrey Francis. Start with Home Recording for Beginners (available from Amazon). Also the free download manual and Reaper Power, also by Geoffrey and available at Amazon. Plus this forum is excellent! The people are great and the information priceless. Start with "search" for questions. It has answered many of my questions. Good luck, you made a wise DAW choice!
