The fitment of zenons as an after market extra is not as straight forward as you might expect or hope. For a start, you must have headlamp wash AND the headlamps must have internal motors making them self levelling. If you find the standard halogens weak, the first thing to check is their alignment.

And if that fails try decent Xenon filled bulbs for your Halogen units. Make sure they're decent ones though as some of the ones on eBay and alike are very poor. Osrams, Philips and even Halfords own should be a marked improvement.

Illegal fitting- I am sure this has been covered before on other threads regarding improving the lights on Volvo's. A number of people have raised this as an issue. I could not tell you as a fact that it is accurate but the number who have said it is and their strong history on this forum would lead me to believe them. Don't give an insurance company a chance to wriggle out of a claim.

Don't want to null and void my insurance, so anybody give a definitive answer regarding these bulbs surely these are not proper Xenon bulbs, in that they are only 12 volt, not the true high Voltage ones.? Because I really cannot live with the crap dipped beams on my S40.
