Remote controlling the DAW

My Studio/DAW/Mix suite is in an upstairs room. My "live room" is you will is in the basement. I generally just run the snake downstairs when the guys are over to record and live is good. I now have a need to record by myself for the new solo project. Moving the DAW is not really a good option. I was considering using my laptop wireless connection to RDP/VNC into the DAW. Does anyone have any experience doing this? Does it cause any glitching etc when tracking?

I will be doing something similar soon. I am going to get a Tranzport: I am sure there are other ways to do it, but this seems to work very well for most people.

VNC has worked flawless for me when I've used it to record with Reaper in the past, and this was back on an Athlon XP 1800+ with 512 MB RAM, so you should be fine.

VNC is da bomb for this task. D

just for the file, RDP works great for this
