SM-7 is kind of the de-facto choice, but RE-20 is a good one because of its proximity effect simulation type thing

Is sm7B the same thing, cant seem to fint just the sm7. At least not in norway. The mic cost 863USD here, anyone know where they have a good price on it? And for the RE-20 I can only find a guitar pedal with the same name in norway.

7 or 7b never made any difference to my tin ears Also the RE-20 has a friend called PL-20 that will do the same thing and sometimes for way cheaper

not a popular choice, but I love my AKG c4000B. They can be had for dirt cheap on ebay compared to their price new. I got mine for 250.

Pipeline, I read that the SM7 is basically a SM57 capsule with a different housing. Is that true? What are the differences in how it sounds?

I have a Shure Green Bullet I use for amplified harmonica. it distorts pretty nice for death metal growls as well if you put an eq in line.
