Remuxing Problem!

Advertising

MessageAuthor

What movie are you trying to do? There have been problems with Warner Bros movies and using rempeg. I had a problem doing Oceans Eleven, but if you take out the first ID that has the WB logo it works fine. If it is a WB film I think that you are going to have to start over and get rid of that ID. Also I have had some files stutter a little bit, but when I put them on a DVD they dont at all. I think my computer gets bogged down sometimes and causes it. But it just depends on what the image looks like. So if you have a DVD-RW you could write to that and play it back on your computer first.

RE: Remuxing Problem!

I believe what he said was his VOB's were too big so he chose ReMPEG. He didnt say that they were too big after ReMPEG only that the picture stutters, and that he wants to fix the stuttering.

RE: Remuxing Problem!

p3distxii, Apologies for not reading your thread properly, (it was a bit late last night). OK Stuttering. (ReMPEG2) What frame mode do you use ? "Match mode" seems to be the recommended selection (not progressive) Also, I have noticed under the "option" tab, the "bit allocation adjustment" slider for "I frame" is set at 110%. I bring this down to 100% (seems the default is set that way. Hope that helps. I know that CCE can also rencode video, but it sure is costly !! HomerJ

RE: Remuxing Problem!

I feel it's the same problem effectively. Anyway, ReMpeg2 is fast to produce some scrappy video for no reason, and a second encoding with the same parameters can give a good result. And Rempeg2 quality is not so nice... But why not use the new method, CCE + Maestro + IfoUpdate to have the full menus with a downsampled movie ? Fast, quite easy, efficient method. BTW, Thanx to Trilight for sharing

RE: Remuxing Problem!

i always used rempeg2 to encode + ifoedit to remux and never had any pbs. i strip unwanted streams / vob ids / angles before reencoding and everything goes fine. on my p3 600 mhz 256 mo it takes me about 12 to 16 hours. what kind of computer do you have to take 27 hours??? if i have to reencode lower than 80% i let go for it is too much troubles to produce scrappy movie. cce seems faster and produces a nicer result but i find it quite difficult for you can't remux directly and you have to re author using costly softwares.
