Sync Reaper to Ableton

I recently figured out how to use rearoute and have been using it successfully with Live. It's really been an eye opener because I get the best of both worlds. I use Live's session view early on and then record to Reaper for mixing. I have all effects/vsts in Reaper. The only thing I have not been able to figure out is how to sync Reaper to the Live's time. Has anyone ever done this? Thanks in advance.

Yes you can send sync from ableton to reaper using MIDI Yoke ports. Reaper needs to be set to receive SPP. you can do it the other way too

I'm not familiar with midi yoke.. do I need an addon for this?

there's midi yoke, midi ox is a great little app to for midi utility stuff - all is free still i think send midi sync over midi yoke (iac in osx) and you should be good to go - use your metronomes in both apps and the offsets to compensate for the delay g

Thanks gwok.. I think I have it. Pressing play in Live starts transport in Reaper. It seems to play in time, but I expected the metronome time in Reaper to update and display same as Live. Should that also have happened? Or do you just have to set them to be equivalent?

maybe not sure - always best to set all slaved apps to the proper tempo so there's the least amount of "catchup" time when starting playback
