Need some help - I'm using Ifoedit v0.96, trying to remux some video, audio, and subtitle files. After I choose "Author new DVD", then select the files to remux, and start the process, the appl crashes. By the way the movie I'm working with is "Hero Extended". I needed to edit the Subtitles so I demuxed the English subs and editted it. Now I need to remux it back. I recently installed SP2 on my Win XP. I'm running a P4 system w/ 1GB ram. I know that Ifoedit isn't designed for XP, so what are my options? Is there a workaround for Ifoedit on my system? Or is there another utility tested under XP SP2 that can remux these files?
Used Rejig 0.5e version and it crashes too with 1 audio and 2 subtitles. Went back to Rejig 5d and everything worked fine. PAL material on Ifoedit works fine - no crashes for me.
I'm using IFOedit for authoring with PAL material (I use it very frecuently), and the limitations I've found are: - Bitrate close to the maximum provokes buffer overflow, so I'm using 8000 max in video and no problems. - Graphic subs (like Men In blank ones) or BOV ones usually crash IFOEdit. If not, an error is issued, so you will not get a correctly multiplexed VOB. No more issues. I've used ac3, mp2 and even DTS in audio. (Always with 0 msec delay). Also, you have to take into account that chapter positions are very accurated, but cannot be exact (I think this is due GOP structure) So, I'm absolutely happy with IFOedit. It's faster than ReJig and uses less disk space due it does the authoring in one step instead of three. jsoto
I'm at a dead end again... Attempting to mux in Rejig 0.5e and 0.5d doesn't seem to work - it creates a dummy file and exits. Also clicking on the file browser for the output directory crashes the program. Downloaded IfoEdit 0.971 - still crashes when I try to start muxing. :( Maybe it's some codec or driver on my XP system... The video (.m2v) was extracted using vstrip, I believe. Using one .ac3 (DD) file, one sub (.SUP) file created by SRT2SUP util. (I don't think this counts as a graphics subtitle?) Any suggestions?
There is another muxer (it's in the begining, but...) called MuxMan. Look in DVD authoring forum. But first, do a try in IFOEdit/ReJig without subs, let's say video+audio. If it still crashes may be your video is not correct... jsoto
