ibook and mbox

hey, from what ive read and researched on this site and others is with an mbox and an ibook with the 1.2ghz processor and 768ram you can pretty much get 32 tracks of audio with a handful of plugins my next question would be how do you listen to and edit your pt sessions without the mbox and is it possible example... your taking a road trip and wanna rearrange audio tracks or mix your sessions can you do this without the mbox. the ibook is portable the mbox is small but still requires power and the two combined become bulky, thanks for any suggestions.

You can't - you need the Mbox connected to your iBook to open PT.

I have a G3 900mhz iBook with 640mb of RAM using an external audio drive and have had no issues with editing 32 tracks. I use this setup for mobile recordings and editing away from home. You do have to watch your plug ins, but that is the case with any system. As far as using PT without the Mbox, it is not possible. The Mbox does not require power, but PT does reccomend to not run on battery power.
