Knocking noise when accelerating

Mine dosent apear to have one of these bars. Anyone know if its supposed to?

Very interesting, i have a knocking noise at the mo which i thought was engine mount, will have to check under the car 1st i feel!!! Cheers!!!

My T4 has just been to the garage with what i suspect is the same problem. My mechanic had a good look around underneath and said that all he could see that maybe the problem was slightly excessive movement on one of the gearbox mounts which i had him change for me. To be fair it made a small improvement but its stil there. Hopefully i can go back to him with this new info and gey it fixed for good. Many thanks:Banane44:

I have a 1.8 from 1999. The front anti-roll bar is not visible under the car as on the pic. I see one much higher (harder to see). Is this a phase 1-2 difference?

Dutch, then bar shown in the pics looks to be a lower subframe brace. (Please correct me if i'm wrong anyone). The Anti role bar is routed across the top of the subframe through x2 bushes and attaches to the front Mac pherson strut via a drop link. Please do not confuse these two items.

Ok, So I don't have this lower subframe brace! Haynes does not show it either... Is it an option then?
