Kontakt MIDI tracks - volume question

hi guys, i made a kontakt setup with 8 different sounds and build 8 midi channels routing to the kontakt track. f.ex. sound nr.1 / ch 1 is a piano, sound nr.2 /ch 2 is a horn: now - when i record a piano and a horn, changing the volume in those midi tracks i made or in the mixer doesnt't have any effect. i can only change the volume in the main kontakt track (affecting all sounds - piano AND horn) i can change the volume for different sounds inside kontakt though, but how can i raise the volume of the piano or horn with reapers track-volume/ mixer slider for those miditracks?

hmmm... i read through some old threads and i'm very shocked: changing the volume in midi-only tracks simply doesn't work with reaper :-O plz fix this as this is an absolutely basic feature that doesn't need some kind of workaround as the volume slider is there with no function! i also have to say that multiple in/out routing in reaper becomes very complicated - own tracks for 16 midi ins - for 16 kontakt outs and for bassdrum/snare/hihats... this really frightens me off cause the track window and mixer is already full and everything is very unclear.

simply create a track 1 with any vsti and another track 2 with a midi recording sending to track 1 and try sliding the track 2 volume slider. doesn't work - has no effect. also doesn't work when you create a track with midi-out to an external synth. strange, because all faders on my master keyboard work the other way around - i can raise or lower volume in different kontakt channels without any adjustment before.
