HAving real problems here... I've downloaded EZ Keys but have now got to the "going round in circles" stage. I'm trying to authorize it but it won't let me authorize until I open it for the first time in Reaper. Trouble is, Reaper can't find it. I've got winzip and an email from Toontrack told me to "extract the download using WinZip"...but I can't figure out how to do that... Help!
I'm not too sure how far you have got. To provide focussed help, can you let us know what you have done successfully so far? If you're using Windows, I'm not sure why you need WinZip as Windows can extract files form .zip files. (I use 7-zip, for .rar and other compressed files too).
Hi Darkstar...ok, hope this makes sense... I've downloaded EZKeys; have got a serial number and I've registered. When I go to the next stage on the Toontrack "My Products" page, it's asking for a Computer ID...but I can't get the computer ID until I open it for the first time in Reaper. And no matter how I try at the moment, I can't find it in Reaper anywhere... Make sense??
i assume as with other vst instruments there's a .dll file for ez keys. make sure the .dll is in the your reaper scanned vst folder otherwise reaper won't know it's there. hope that makes sense.

I have this and if I remember it installs to the C drive..something like: C:\program files\steinberg\vst C:\program files(x86)\steinberg\vst something along those lines the same thing happened to me with melodyne and copying the .dll didn't work so I just added the C:\ drive path to the vst path under options in Reaper

OK, well I seem to be getting somewhere although I'm not sure where! It now appears on my desktop..so I can open it and jig about with it. But I can't seem to get it into anywhere that Reaper will recognise...I presume that should be straightforward enough...at least it would be if I knew what I was doing. Which I don't...
I was pretty sure EZ keys let you choose where to save the dll files, so you could save them to where all your other plugins are. Still he is past this point so let's not go backwards.

Well somehow, some way I got there...but it was a whole different palaver to loading up EZDrummer which, considering it's near as dammit the same thing, is odd. Anyway, onwards and upwards and thanks for the replies... Got an odd latency issue though; I've started up a couple of new songs with EZKeys and there is minimal, barely discernible, latency. However, when I go back to an old song, recorded before I installed EZKeys, and add EZKeys, there is massive latency. I've looked at the various settings in the top right corner and they're identical. The only thing I can possibly think is that the older songs have several tracks on them, whereas the newer song only has a drum on it....is that likely to be the cause? If not...what?!
