If your vst responds to midi program change messages, you could send a midi track to it with bank/program messages. But automating FX presets isn't yet supported directly.

Another way of doing it is to split the track into a block at the point where you want a specific FX/Chain and then in that block,right click/Item Properties click on the FX button and load what you like.The FX will then only be implemented at that point and for the duration of the block.I do this sometimes if I say like the Guitar sound I'm using for the Rhythm part but want say a bit of echo,whatever and use the same track affected at the solo :)
