howdy folks....I'm getting ready to switch from windows to mac. I've been using acid 2.0 and was wondering if anyone knew of an easy to use equivalent in Mac. I want to be able to continue using the wav loops that I have.........is this possible? thanks, greg
Ableton's "Live" is very cool. I have the demo. It's great. Wait one day - I heard a rumor (I know, just a rumor, but from a VERY reliable source) that Sonic Foundry was working on ACID for the MAC - I don't know if it's ready for NAMM though.
Hi all, PC user here, visiting your side from time to time, thought I'd put in a few words on this issue. Phrazer, it's true...it sucks. I'm only going by all the reviews I've read in the past (Sound On Sound, Future Music, etc.) Looks like a 'could have been great' program but they cut a lot of corners and released it with a lot of bugs. If Sonic Foundry delivers the goods for you guys, then great. Otherwise, I would just use Recycle 2.0 for your time stretching needs and keep working in ProTools. Some back and forth involved but you get used to it. Although I have Acid and used it extensively for a period of time, I find the above method works very well. It may not be as 'instant' as on your Acid loop sequencer, but it's a rather efficient alternative. pk
Where can I download Ableton's LIVE from..? Sounds good to me.! Right now I have ACID running on my MAC under Virtual PC. Kind of a pain but it works. It would be nice if Digidesign gave us PTLE users some kind of beat detective lite, Just wishing AGAIN............. DeFuse
PHRAZER blows, plain and simple. I'm the schlub who bought it out of the gate ($425 Cdn). Buggy, non-intuitive, and the most incomprehensible manual I've ever seen. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!
