please gents, its a thread about asking a new (and optional) scheme/logic.. im gald if you like what you HAVE now, but please.... thx. (PS: i still HATE fancyedges overall. but thanks to Cockos im NOT forced to use it..)
I love most of Brice's ideas :) But already with what we have now, the namefield can be painted semi transparent. Mine look plain black over my rather dark track background, but the peaks do shine through very well. Leading to another problem I have... with bright colored peaks under it, the (almost) white label becomes barely readable. So I might change that back to opaque and resort to zooming to have the full peak displayed. For Brice's infoline (and my humbly cheated field) to work properly, the peaks will have to be changed to a smaller vertical size, which will not be everybody's choice. EDIT: Actually, I had this wrong. The item peaks are painted in a z order above the item backround png (obviously a good choice :)), so the namefield will never cover peaks when it is a part of the background pic. Leaving me stumped with my white labels and bright peaks when selected. Btw, I tried to tick off 'draw labels when items are in compact mode'. Seems to be broken? can anyone confirm?
--------------------- Quodcunque aliquis ob tutelam corporis sui fecerit juri id fecisse videtur.
What happened with my selected items? I've been so lucky that I finally could have them black in the previous 2.99alphas. Is there a way with all theese blend options to color my selected items partially black, regardless the tracks/items custom color? Thanks for the help texts in the blendmode window btw. I understand, base color would be my png in the themes folder and blend color the track/item custom color. Do I have this right? If yes, I really wish it were the other way round.
To me it's important that all selected items share some visual clue. I need to look at the screen full of items and at a glance see which are selected. Just blending them darker or brighter or anything just doesn't help me a bit. At the moment e.g. dark red items could just be custom colored dark red or they could be selected items of a slightly different red. A selected item on one track can have the exact look as a not selected item on another track (or even the same track when I decided to give one item a slightly different color for some reason). Muted items is the same problem. This is a big problem for me and I was really happy that 2.99 seemed to head in the right direction, with the exeption explained earlier in this thread. The current behaviour is a step back in my eyes (compared to the previous 2.99 alphas), if I don't find a way to use the blend modes to solve this. I haven't yet, though I tried a long time now.
