What is a subtitle overlay mask and how do I create one for my menus?

You mean subpictures in menus ? These are in fact a still image that will be "put" over your still or motion menu to highlight your buttons area when you will select a button. You can create them with your favorite picture editor. You have 4 colors you can use.. Well... In DVDMaestro it works that way.. I use the pure black RGB(0,0,0) for the background, and the others for the rest. Pure White RGB(255,255,255) Pure Blue RGB(0,0,255) Pure Red RGB(255,0,0) Some of the authoring programs works in different ways, I am thinking of SpruceUp and DVDMaestro. For DVDMaestro just look at Doom's guide on the guides page of the website (I dunno if there is a guide for SpruceUp). Even if you don't use DVDMaestro, you could take a look at his guide, you will see an example of subpicturing in it. Hope that helps!
