RV9 GUI's?

MessageAuthor

Right now I am using AurtoRV9. I was wondering what else is out there. Also if you have any advice on using AutoRV9 I'd like to hear it. I'd like to know what filters and such people are using to rip with. Also if you have any post processing settings in the RV9 codec. I don't care really on how much computer time it takes to make it. I have a dual 2100+ sysemt that rips fairly fast. So if I have to click all the options to get the best rips then so be it. Right now I am encoding the Band of Brothers. One part on each disk. So about 1 hr of video on a disk. What would be the best settings to get the most out of that? What would be the best settings to get the most out of say a 2 hr movie. I don't know why but I managed to get SPY GAMES onto one disk and it looked GREAT! So if you have any advice for a poor old duck just let me know. Duck

RE: RV9 GUI's?

I have come across only AutoRV9 and RM9 Gui ( ). Also, maybe not what you are looking for, but all the well known video editing tools (Premiere, Vegas) ship with export to RealMedia plugins. Your example is pretty hard material, but with one hour per CD, the bitrate is high enough to try out anamorphic encoding, which unfortunately is a little hard to use right now, since it currently requires .

I don't suppose you could tell me what's the best to use to encode a movie could you? I used AutoRV9 on the movie Signs and for some reason I just can't get that good of quality. However on other movies like The Mexican or Spy games I managed to get a full 2 hrs on one cd and they look great... Anything I should try? Also could you give us any hints as to what it is looking like in the future for the Codec?

If you want to use the commercial version of Helix Producer you find here a small guide:

But Helix Producer doesn't deal with .vob files. And neither does the Windows codec. I tried dvd to avi to change them to .avi form but that still required a codec to do so. How do I change the .vob to .avi or another format that the Helix producer and the Windows Codec can both read? Duck

You have to use DVD2AVI and then write an AVS file. Real Producer and Helix can then both read the dvd data. Should be the same with windows media.

If you have MPEG-2 Directshow filters installed, such that you can play .vob files in a DS player, producer can directly read the .vob files. Otherwise you need an .avs file. By the way, I think windows media encoder can not read .avs files, but the Nic's encoder version can.
