Would it make sense to have a Midi subforum?

Advertising

MessageAuthor

Just wondering if it might make sense to have a midi forum under reaper forums. For people who are heavily involved in Midi, that may be a primary thing they want to read about. And for people who aren't, they probably don't care about Midi and don't want to read about it. So, could be handy Sorry if it's been requested already (Note poll should say subFORUM but says subform..sorry)

Well the previous poll was 3:1 in favor, but with a low over all vote count (< 100).... So I guess most people didnt care enough one way or the other to warrant such creation? Makes sense I guess... But that's no reason to be apathetic on this poll! Vote your hearts out Darth

RE: Would it make sense to have a Midi subforum?

Too many people here don't understand how a forum works. They think making a midi forum would overemphasize midi and take precious time away from other more important development (like video?), which is bullshit. How those conclusions are reached are beyond me. A midi forum would be way more helpful than the Lounge forum, which is of no use whatsoever as regards the development of this program. We need a midi forum just as much as we need an OS-X forum. So, don't hold your breath. A midi forum has been soundly voted in favor of and completely ignored, with nary a hint of explanation. I don't even know who the forum mods/admins are, and that info is usually easy to find at the bottom of the page, but not here.

I dunno how I feel about this. Frankly, I pretty much like the forum the way it is. Not saying it's a bad idea, just not sure what the benny is.

Well, I've thought about having a CSurf section as seperate from midi too....That would solve some of the problems... As well as a hardware synth midi section.... Really, especially when you get into csurfs and hardware midi it really makes sense because many ppl don't have csurfs OR hardware synths.... As far as the benny, the benny is, for instance, as a hardware synth owner, I could log into the forums and see just what hardware synth owners are doing as far as workflow and (midi) plugins, groove quantizing, etc, which would be of very much interest to such folks but not intersting to people who use reaper as more like protools and less like cubase. And if there was a csurf section people could log into that and see what the happs are on csurfaces. Yes they aren't the majority of the group -- that's the point. To make the minority posts one might be interested more visible (ala the JS section). Darth

I hear what you are saying, but I don't feel this forum is overwhelmed with that enough to have a separate subforum. Besides, why give the mods more reason to have to move things :hehehehehe:

well by midi only I dont mean that midi HAS to go there, but if its only midi releated it probably SHOULD go there...things that are related to both could still go on general..
