Yep Its a new rack Im afraid. I would put my money on the seals leaking and as the pressure is very high any leak soon drains the fluid. Its not to expensive if you do it yourself . A couple of hundred quid would see you through from Eurospares or German and Swedish. They do units though some may be recon/exchange Basically to change is as follows. Remove sump guard panel. Mark and undo the steering column shaft where it goes into the rack...usually 1 bolt. Carefully undo fluid connections to rack catching fluid in something. Undo track rod ends. You dont have to remove track rod ends as you can unscrew the rack from them. Good idea to count number of threads or measure to get new rack back in same place (roughly) Remove two bolts holding rack to subframe. Assembly is the reverse plus a pop into a garage for tracking.Tell the garage that you have changed the rack so that they can get track rods equal length. One point to note is that the track rods themselves should be the same length each side and this is why the measuring/counting turns is important. Use new fluid as old will be contaminated. The steering wheel may be out of align and this can be rectified be removing horn trim, undoing nut and centering wheel. Dont attempt this if you have an airbag. cheers Nige
