Has anyone got Quickeys X to make menu selections?

Hi, For the life of me I cannot get Qucikeys X to make menu selections. The mouse click menu selections work, but I cannot make my own shortcuts to automatically make menu selections, like I did in OS 9. This is really holding me back from OS X. Quickeys always gives an error message, and lists a bunch of things I can try, none of which work. Has anyone got this working? What's the trick? It doesn't work in Pro Tools, or the Finder, or any application.

It's really very simple. So simple if you know it. So essential that you'd think they would print it in BIG RED LETTERS when you are installing. You need to open the System Preferences, Go to Universal Access, click the tab for "Seeing", and click on the box "Enable Access for Assisted Devices" Then it will work like you expect.
