Midi wiredness/ Fxpansion problems

MessageAuthor

hi, I have got trouble with midi the last days. outboardinstruments quit playing, or all notes of one track play the same sound. switching the track to another midi channel and back mostly solves the problem... have to do this all the time, no idea what can be wrong. the only thing I changed in my setup recently was installing the FXpansion vst-rtas adapter... since doing that my graphics sometimes make crazy things, for instance changing the the grabber and trim tools into little arrows... anybody had similar problems? thanks ringo.fire G5 1.8 / HD2/96 i/o PT 6.2.2 OSX panther motu micro lite midi i/o FxPansion t.c. RE: Midi wiredness/ Fxpansion problems

Hi Ringo - Protools LE 6.2.2 / OS 10.3.2 / MBox with Fxpansion wrapper : Sometimes I open a session and my MIDI tracks have this weird red GUI glitch in the piano strip, like this : Click for image : When this happens, the whole piano strip acts as if it's one big "scroll up" button, i.e. if i touch it, I go up to the top of the piano roll and can't scroll down again. This happens to old MIDI tracks and also to new ones that I create. It doesn't matter if the MIDI track is actually being sent anywhere or not. SOMETIMES close session / re-open clears it up, sometimes not. Ditto for Quit Protools and computer restart - there's just no pattern at all. Is this anything like yours ? Also, you should re-post your problem to , FxPansion are using that as a basis for fixups to the next version of the adapter (very soon). Thanks, Simon

I've posted a link to this thread back there. Also getting the "arrow" graphic with the mouse when some VSTs are plugged in .

I really think this "MIDI-arrow" bug is a separate Fxpansion one - appears when you plug in a VST, disappears when you take it out. Anyway, hopefully all will be sorted with the next update.

Thanks for the post. I was just looking to get the same plug-in. Angus or someone from FXpansion needs to adress this in order for me to move forward on this product. Thanks again for your post. M

RE: Midi wiredness/ Fxpansion problems

I have the VST/AU xpansion for logic. Seems to be the same problem there. It seems like it is filling the RAM up somehow. Did strange things on my computer, even with 2.5 Gb RAM. When I don't use it, things are ok again!
