A7V-333, AMD Barton 2500 & Mbox2

Advertising

MessageAuthor

Does anyone out there have a working system using an Asus A7V-333, AMD Barton 2500 and the Mbox2? For two and half months I've been trying to get mine working to no avail. I recently purchased a gig of ram (now I have 1.5 gigs) and a powered hub which oddly the powered hub made things worse. Anybody have any ideas?

Oh gosh, another post of mine got deleted. I've heard of no one replying to you because no one likes you, but come on guys, I really need an answer here. A different point of view isn't a wrong point of view. I thought the DUC considered itself fairly tolerate of policy issues. Surely someone must have the same motherboard and a Mbox2. They're considered a workhorse...

Sometimes you gotta bump these threads for a week or so before someone with the same or similar spec will see it. Shane

Maybe more info would help. How big a power supply? What video card? Any other USB devices connected. SP1 or 2?

I have an A7V and had alot of compatability problems with it and my video card and stuff. Think I had to run agp 4x's to get it to work at all. Hmm come to think of it it is in my girlfriends computer now I think with a 1400 thunderbird chip. I got it when it first came out and heard they weren't very good till you upgrade bios. Do ya have the latest bio? Don't know much about mbox but if it is firewire do ya have the firewire card that is on compatable list? Also I could NOT get it to work with a motu 2408 mkII. I just kept my old athlon 1ghz slot A cause it worked so well.

RE: A7V-333, AMD Barton 2500 & Mbox2

Thanks for the info. My bios is 1003 and I believe that's the only bios that works with PTLE. When I orginally bought the computer, I told the builder to check the bios and remember having a conversation with him where he tried 1003 and 1004, and 1003 was the only bios that worked. I'm using a Radeon 7500 video card in the agp slot at 4X. None of the fixes in the General Troubleshooting stickie thread pertaining to the video card made any difference, so I have no reason to believe there's a problem with the video card. The Mbox2 is a USB device, so firewire isn't an issue. And I have an AMD 2500 Barton core for the chip which I've never heard anything but good things about it. I have since gone back to the 001, which I orginally bought the computer for, and the 001 and 6.4 works perfectly. I have since realized I'm gonna have to do a complete reformat and start all over. I was messing around with the computer awhile back and screwed something up, which a computer friend applied a fix for but it didn't actually fix it. Again, I'm just trying to ascertain if the A7V-333 and its chipset actually work with a Mbox2 in a stock setup.
