RE: How are you guys using the new tab function in R3?
still some issues in tab to detect transitions... tab action is no problem...the matter is the own reaper detect for transitions. this is needed for a re programing to be really usable
RE: How are you guys using the new tab function in R3?
Project tabs could be used for mixer automation if there was a configurable crossfade from one tab to another. (Imagine you have a multichannel audio interface with live audio coming in from multiple sources. For each song in a set you'd have a Reaper project in a project tab, with tracks record enabled and monitoring on, and whatever balance and effects were required set up. Next song, click on its project tab with all its required setups at the ready. But you might not want a sudden transition from one to another (particularly if different project tabs were used within a song). So a way of globally or even individually changing the crossfade from one tab to another would give a nice smooth result). And perhaps the means for recording, once running, to transfer to the active tab would be neat.

Can be two projects synced and played simultaneously? Or can you send a Track folder to a different tab of the same project? Could be cool to view the Drums in one tab, and the rest of the instruments in another, each one with their personal zooming settings. Just a tab change instead of scroll up-down.

It is a most wonderful feature. One of the most wonderful Energy XT features was that you can work on seperate projects "modules" and so maintain a clean workspace meant for a specific thing. Now to see that in reaper is fantastic.
