MeGUI and Nero AAC Encoder

Advertising

MessageAuthor

I have one question about Nero AAC Encoder in MeGUI. If I convert in MeGUI some AC3 5.1 audio track into AAC by using Nero AAC encoder I see that resulting file always has "DELAY 0ms" in the name, even if the source file has some non-zero delay, like "DELAY 296ms", for example. Why it is always zero? And how it can affect on the resulting muxed video file? I am afraid that this difference can produce a problem with audio and video synchronization.

The delay is applied when you load the audio track. Observe what happens in the right lower corner of the audio section when you load the audio

And is it really used during the encoding process? So, is it safe then use such "zero delayed" AAC for muxing in some container?

It was broken in some builds, fixed in others. You can always fix it later when you mux it (apply+ or- delay). Not a big deal.

Yes, go ahead and mux without a delay.
