Not sure if this is a Reaper bug or an Alchemy one but I could do with some help working out what is going on from any Reaper bods. It is only happening in Reaper but Alchemy is also a very new synth. Recording automation in latch mode is acting strange. If I just record mousing on the XY pads there's no problem and the envelopes play back perfectly as they should. However if I record mousing on the XY pads and then on the Remix pad when I play the track back even though envelopes have been drawn for the XY's and Remix pad, only the Remix pad gets played back correctly - the XY playback is ignored. However I can't see anything wrong - the envelopes look fine and reference the XY params and in 2.99 you can even see movement of the params if you have it open in lanes but it's not driving the Alchemy XY's or changing the sound (hence it is not simply a redraw problem). I've even tried deleting the Remix pad envelopes but it still ignores the XYs - its as if recording the automation for the Remix pad has unlatched the XY's somehow. I have attached a project where this is happening for analysis.

They don't have a demo version for that synth do they? If you switch automation mode to trim or read and play back, is it still the case that Alchemy hears only one of the envelopes?
Not yet - sorry. Maybe Ben would let you have an NFR for testing though? I'm experimenting with different automation modes - I tend to just use latch for everything (don't know what the others are good for really) Although I said this is not happening in other hosts (tested in Orion, Energy XT and Sonar) I did have a weird and possibly comparable problem in Kore 2 but was able to resolve it. I found initially I couldn't properly assign the XY's to hardware knobs by selecting them from the param menu as I could with the other params. It assigned them for the session but even though I saved the patch when I reopened it the assignments had vanished. However I found if I manually made the assignment using learn and touching the XY's with the mouse the assignments "stuck".

hmm well "trim" doesn't record anything if I mouse on the XY's or Remix pad - do you have to set it up first or something? (I seem to remember that's what I liked about latch - that you didn't have to faff in long lists of params) the others; "write/read" and "touch" have the same problem - record XY's fine but if I record remix pad afterwards they ignore the XY's on playback ("touch" was a bit weird though - it was sort of fighting me as I moused on the pads like it wanted them to be somewhere else)

My question meant, if you record both envelopes as you have done in latch (or write or touch) mode, then switch to trim or read mode to play the automation back, do both envelopes get read, or still just the one envelope?

bump - I think is is either pointing to some strangeness in how Reaper handles automation or a bug in Alchemy so it would be useful to know which (or it could be a bit of both).
