utterly top of the line, and proven so. Only recently has Sonar, for instance, come close to caught up; most likely due to the tests done in relation to multicore processing, which showed reaper simply trouncing the competition.

quad here, perfect for me. stable spread across all cores, all the time. When the developer of the software uses an 8 core machine, you can be sure he's going to make the most of it.

Its absolutely top shelf. I went to the trouble of rebuilding my old DAW and configuring everything as a Reamote host. So far I haven't come close to needing it with 50-60 tracks @ 96/24 with EQ/Comp plugs loaded
