SampleTank 2

Just installed Sampletank 2 and I'm not sure what's happenin' here. I'm using the mouse to play the keyboard, but I'm getting no output. What's the trick to this? Thanks,

Have you loaded a sample? Are you using it in an aux track? If so, have you rasied the fader to a listenable level? Lots of things could be going wrong here, but it's hard to tell you if you are doing something wrong unless we know what you are doing to start with. Maybe you could detail your process and we could then tell you if you are missing something or doing something wrong?

I have the Instrument setup on an Aux Trax. Yes, the fader is raised. No, I have not loaded any samples. Of course, I didn't realize I needed to do that. How do I load samples? Is there a preloaded sample library that comes with the software?? Is there supposed to be a "Help or How to..." PDF that comes with the software?? Thanks for your help.

Wow. OK. First, we need to establish what version of Sampletank you are using. LE? SE? XL? Next, we need to know which platform; MAC or PC? Next, on the installation CD, there are installation instructions. If you followed them properly, then the sample library should already be installed. Next, the instrument needs to know where to look for the installed samples. You need to set the root directory for the samples (details in the next step). Last, the PDF manual gets installed by default with the software. It has detailed instructions in it on a). how to install the software properly, and b). how to use the software properly, including setting the root directory for the installed samples, and loading samples into the instrument. All of the steps I have mentioned here are covered in that document, as well as a whole lot more. I would definitely recommned spending some time with that document. It will definitely answer many of these very basic questions that you have, and put you on the right path to making music with this instrument.
