HELP WITH VSTI PLUGIN PLEASE

Hi everyone I`ve just downloaded Reaper and am impressed. My problem lies in uploading a vsti. I`ve been to Preferences, clicked add , clicked the file where the vsti is then clicked apply, but when i click on effects in reaper it doesn`t show up, just the reaper vst`s. I`m new to this so i`m probaqbly doing something wrong. I`m using windows 2000 and the vsti im trying to upload is a demo version of Vielklang zplane. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give

click the "rescan directory" button just under where you set the VST folder. it should show up after that.
