Best place to look-up and/or buy synths?

Hi all, I'm pretty new to protools, having just moved over from a PC using mainly Sonar. Now, I have a Dual 1.8 G5 and an M-box, with an Oxygen8 controller, however, I have nearly no decent plugins to start things off. Anyone have any suggestions on good but not bank-breaking synths and plugins, and where to read up on them? Many thanks! Mike

Thanks so much for all the help, I'm going to be busy listening for the next few days! While I'm in the habit of spending money I don't have, do you all think the Oxygen's a decent way to go, at least for a start?
