opening plugin's GUI causes audio glitches

Hello Everybody I have very bad issue with opening some plugin's GUI with low latency or in monitoring mode:opening some GUI will cause glitches and crack in audio This is especially annoying when you record/monitor track output with plugin inserted in . That makes also reaper not useable in a live context for me. example: 8 tracks record armed (track output rec)with monitoring and plugins with nice GUI inserted or even a voxengo SPAN analyser. Two screensets: F7 with no GUI opened ,F8 with all GUI opened. Toggling F7 to F8 will cause weird glitches in the audio here (and spikes in the cpu use);it can even crash reaper. This happen with about40-50 percent CPU use and sometimes opening just one pluginGUI as a voxengo one. I've tried different settings in the preference menu. Opening the same plugin's GUI in Bidule or cuuuubase (i don't want to come back, please)works nice here (no glitches). I have this problem on my two systems: laptop with RME multiface/ATI Radeon1400 XPhome sp2 and rack mounted PC with Lynx Two /ATI RadeonX300 XPproSP3 whatever reaper version thanks for your comments

I am getting the same sort of problem but reaper crashes! The CPU is at 40-50% I will be mixing away for 20min or so opening and closing plugins no problem, then I open another and or adjust a plugin and the audio glitches and Reaper freezes and crashes. the problem is not plugin specific as I have even had cashes using the Reapers native plugins my system is Pentium quad core 2gig Ram gigabyte motherboard motu 828mk2 audio interface

I've tried "bypass audio when opening plugin gui" but it's worst in most plugin's case. It seems that the graphic things causes CPU spikes in reaper. Maybe we could have a "live" option : graphics and opening GUI getting slower but CPU safer. I've tried all the preference settings: audio thread, etc and Graphics lazy.. I always get some glitches when reaching 40 to 50 percent CPU. The same happens in Bidule but a little bit after(60percentCPU). Do you think a very good Graphic Card would help for this?

I think that has to do with the Windows graphics driver when the PC motherboard has an onboard graphics, which causes high CPU und RAM traffic on screen changes.
