I'm pretty new to Reaper, and trying to collaborate with a friend who is using a different DAW. In reading the manual I got the impression that when you consolidate tracks and export your project, Reaper would create new media items that could all be inserted into a new project on their own tracks at a common starting point. That way the tracks wouldn't need to be lined up manually by the new user. When I consolidate, any track that only has 1 media item on it, it still needs to be lined up manually by my friend. The silence doesn't get added at the beginning of the track. I realize that I could just give my friend the information to line them up properly, but I'd like to aviod that kind of tedious work. :) Is there any way around this? Thanks for any help you can offer! Colin PS- the consolidation works beautifully if there are multiple media items on a track.
