can i "normalize" to -3db (or something other than 0 db)?

Is it possible to "normalize" a track to something other than 0 db? Like maybe -3 db or -6 db? Sometimes I like to have a little extra headroom. Thanks Super Steely KristEnya (formerly Super kristen)

Or hit normalize in the item properties and subtract. Really, if you like head room, then get your mits off the normalize button. :D

I totally agree with Bubbagump, however, Wavosaur (wav editor) has features to normalize to any db level you want.

Use the volume automation on the track to do this for you. Again if you need it to be permanent, Wavosaur has features to change the volume to any db level as well.

You can "normalise" to different levels using the item properties dialogue, there is a slider to adjust level, and even one for pan, I just use the item volume though

whaty about setting up a macro that normalizes then reduces by 3 db? lets see if i can rig one up
