Record to 7200 rpm eSATA- How many tracks at once?

I bought one of those antec mx-1 cases about two weeks ago for my backup drive...no problems so far and it seems to keep itself pretty cool. Its the first time ive used e-sata (without knowing anything about it other than how to plug it in) and it seems to work fine.

I don't get that latency problem, please explain to me. I am a drummer playing for more than 25 years. I often do some recording (rehersal or studio session) and I always monitor from the application (Reaper) with some processing (light verb, eq, etc). I set my buffer size to 128 which should give me 2 x 6 ms of latency if I understand correctly. should I be uncomfortable with that? I used to have a RME Digi96/8 who couldn't go under 256 buffer size and that was fine too. Don't know...

Thanks Data. I haven't notice the "blurried" sound. I should try monitoring directly through a console to see (hear).
